Cultural visits

All guided tours are given by ICS Professors and staff

María Luisa Park

In 1893, María Luisa, Duchess of Montpensier, donated part of her private gardens to Seville for a public park. Today, its lush scenery, fountains, and monuments make it one of the city's top tourist attractions.

Ancient Roman City Of Itálica

Founded in 206 BC, Itálica was one of Spain's first Roman settlements and birthplace of two emperors. Today, its mosaics, amphitheater, and archaeological remains offer a vivid glimpse into Roman life.

Alcázar Palace

Built by Castilian Christians over a Muslim fortress, Seville’s Alcázar is a premier example of Mudéjar architecture. Renowned for its beauty, it remains the oldest European royal palace still in use.

The Cathedral

Completed in the 16th century on the site of the Great Mosque, Seville’s Cathedral became the world's largest Gothic church. It houses magnificent architectural elements alongside impressive works of sacred art.

Semester trips

All semester trips are directed by ICS staff while local tours are given by professional guides.

Jerez And Bolonia

After a historic cellar tour and tasting in Jerez de la Frontera, we visit Bolonia's golden shores to explore Roman ruins and soak up the sun.

Granada

An overnight trip to explore the magnificent Alhambra palace and the historic monuments of Granada, set at the foot of the Sierra Nevada.

Córdoba

Exploration of the ancient mosque and medieval Jewish quarter of one of Spain's most charming towns.

North Africa

A three-day tour of Tangier, Tetouan, and Chefchaouen, Morocco featuring an authentic Moroccan Fantasy dinner and a coastal camel ride along Cape Spartel. Chefchaouen, Morocco

Welcome Week

Spanish Cooking classes

In a festive atmosphere you will learn how to make two of Spain's best known and most loved dishes: Paella, Tortilla Española, along with Fruity Sangría.

Holiday celebrations

This semester, celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with us! We can assure you it will be great fun with celebrations to remember!

Intercambios

Sign up in the ICS Main Office to take part of this program of linguistic exchange. You will be assigned a Spanish student so you both can meet and practice Spanish and English. The ICS often organizes get-togethers for this.

Sunday soccer

If you would like to take part in friendly soccer matches on Sunday mornings, let us know and we will get you in touch with the organizers.

Service learning opportunities

Working with the local community.

The ICS offers students opportunities to engage with the local community through volunteering and internships. We partner with a number of schools, and associations in Seville, and during Orientation you will be given details about available placements and expectations. Once you take on the position, you will be given a weekly schedule for the semester and will receive a Certificate of Compliance before going back home.
