Dear friends and colleagues,
We are pleased to share with you the June edition of The Porvenir Times. This month marks a special moment at the International College of Seville, as we close the Spring 2026 semester and warmly welcome our Summer 2026 intensive Spanish program.
As one semester came to an end, we had the joy of gathering one last time with our spring students for a heartfelt farewell celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all that they experienced during their time in Seville — from academic growth and cultural discovery to the friendships and memories that will no doubt remain with them for years to come. We are deeply grateful to each of our spring students for the energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm they brought to the College throughout the semester.
At the same time, June has also brought the excitement of new beginnings. We are delighted to welcome our Summer 2026 students to the ICS as they begin their month-long language and cultural immersion in Seville. From their first days of orientation and introduction to the city, it has already been a pleasure to see new friendships forming and a new group beginning to discover all that this experience has to offer.
In this month’s edition, we look back on the conclusion of the spring semester, highlight our farewell party, and share the first moments of our Summer 2026 program as it gets underway. June has been a month of both celebration and transition — a time to say goodbye with gratitude and to begin again with excitement.

Spring 2026 Farewell Party
It was a wonderful semester, filled with memorable moments and an outstanding group of students. Although it was difficult to say goodbye, we wanted to turn the occasion into a truly joyful celebration.
With delicious food prepared by our housemothers and one last opportunity to gather together, our farewell party was a beautiful way to close the Spring 2026 semester.

Summer Welcome Reception & Orientation
Our Summer 2026 students were warmly welcomed to Seville from the moment they arrived. From airport pickups to their first gathering at the International College of Seville, the welcome reception and orientation offered an exciting introduction to the month ahead.
Students were introduced to their academic schedules, cultural immersion activities, and essential tips for life in the city, setting the stage for a memorable and enriching summer abroad.

Welcome Week!
Our Summer 2026 students began their first full day in Seville with a walk through María Luisa Park, a visit to the University of Seville, and an introduction to one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, the Cathedral.
It was a beautiful way to begin the program and to help students start discovering the history, culture, and everyday life of the city together.

Welcome Week continues!
Welcome Week continued with two memorable experiences in the heart of Seville. Students explored the city’s lively commercial district and visited Las Setas, one of Seville’s most distinctive modern landmarks finishing with delicious Churros con Chocolate!
Later, the group enjoyed an unforgettable evening at Museo del Baile Flamenco, experiencing one of the most iconic and moving traditions of Andalusian culture.

River Cruise Along the Guadalquivir
One of the highlights of the month was our river cruise along the Guadalquivir. It was a lovely way for students to enjoy Seville from a different perspective while spending time together on the water.
With music, refreshments, and plenty of laughter, it was a relaxed and memorable morning for everyone.

Meet the ICS Summer Social Media Team!
This summer, we are excited to introduce the ICS Social Media Team. Working alongside staff, the team helps capture and share the student experience through photos, videos, and digital storytelling, giving families, home universities, and future students a closer look at life at the International College of Seville.
This summer’s team includes:
Deandra López, Ashlynn Whitcher, Husnah Yawari, Mia Sturm, and Ian Green.
Together, they are working on a variety of creative projects that highlight student life, cultural experiences, and the everyday moments that make studying abroad in Seville so memorable.
